Under One Roof at a Glance
Under One Roof is a community heritage project based in and around St Mark’s Church in Shelton Stoke on Trent.
The aim of the project is to restore and conserve this important Edwardian building.
Under One Roof is funded by a major grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund with supporting funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Staffordshire Historic Churches Trust, National Churches Trust, Whalley's Quarry and Edward Cadbury Charitable Trust.

Community Heritage activities include learning sessions, creative activities, talks, research and events which enable people to share and understand local heritage.
The project explores the history of migration into the area and those who came to work in the potteries, pits and steel works and more recent arrivals.
Paper-cut stained glass activity
A group of people from the Friends of St Mark’s and the B Arts Space to Connect Advisory Group worked together to think about the heritage of St Mark’s and to design a craft workshop.

We chose to focus on the beautiful stained glass windows in the Church. We also looked at Islamic art and the designs of tiles.

This led us to think about paper cut craft as a way to make our own stained glass windows.

We asked artist Richard Redwin to teach us how to make paper cut stained glass windows. He then made an excellent video to demonstrate.
